Hand Print Art

For Christmas my girls received a play kitchen from Santa.  We decided they needed some art to spice up the kitchen area.  I purchased 4 square canvases.  I painted two of them black and then Dad, Mom and both my girls did their hand prints.  It was hard to get a good hand print from my 1 year old, but they are okay for the play kitchen.

Storage Lockers

I have to say I think this is one of the best things I have done in our new house.  I had a carpenter put lockers that I designed in the garage right before you get to the back door.   They run from floor the ceiling.

The very top is closed strorage.  Above my locker I keep extra cook books and above my girls lockers I will store the life jackets for next year or other items that we don't really use often. Below that I put baskets.  I attached small chalk boards to each basket and wrote names on them.  My husband, myself, each girl, the dogs and an extra locker were built.  Below that is the locker part, pull out drawer and an empty space to store dirty shoes or rain boots.

This is a great place to keep back packs, coats, or items you need to load before you leave the house.  It is supposed to keep the clutter from coming through the door, but I still seem to get clutter in the house.  Hope you like it.

book shelves

I saw this on pinterest and decided I would try it in my kids playroom.  This was so easy.  I bought the 10ft rain cutters, the end caps, and 5 brackets for each.  Then I screwed them into the wall.  I think they look pretty good and they cost less than $25.

wine barrel table

My husband and I went to a winery/b&b for his birthday and they had some old barrels in their gift shop that they had turned into tables and wine racks.  I thought that I could do that, so I bought two and here are the before and after pics.
